But, yesterday at church we discovered that 2 of my 3 kids had pink eye. The only reason this affected me running this morning is that I was up most of the night with my 2 year old daughter as she kept waking up and crying. The sleep I did get was on the floor in her bedroom. So I didn't run this morning either. So I'll get to do the afternoon jog or the treadmill late tonight after the kids are in bed. Somehow, I still weighed 2 1/2 pounds less this morning than last Monday morning.
So I've went from 200 pounds on Feb. 4th to 195 lbs. on March 3rd. If I could lose 5 pounds each month until the race, I could drop almost 25 pounds. That's all the motivation I need to stay true to the training.
Get yo Run On Fools!!
p.s. I apologize for the epistle. This weekend just really sucked. Did anybody get a good run in over the weekend?

Sounds like you had a fun weekend.
I think its a good idea to work out your quads and hamstrings, but I guess not before the long run day huh?
I worked out mine today after another fast pace day running 2 miles in under 17 min. I'm feeling better at this quick of a pace, I was at speed 7 the entire run and had a little power left in the end to crank it up to speed 8 for the last 1/4 mile.
I'm getting closer to the 8 minute mile pace I want to average. I just need to run all 5 miles this wed at a better pace now.
My work out on Saturday was a little different. I ran to our church building which is 2 miles from our house played basketball for an hour then ran home another 2 miles. Does that count as my long run?

Jared, that sounds like a pretty good workout. I thought about doing the same. They play BBall at the Stake Center by the temple on MWF in the morning. I thought about running the three miles there, playing some hoops, and then running back.
