Well, the half marathon was one of the most brutal things I've ever done. But I'm glad I did it. That's officially the longest I've ever run without walking (with the exception of the brief water breaks) My feet will probably hurt for a while, my legs will need some serious ice and ibuprofen, but I feel really good having completed it. To quote Ryan Cluff, a good friend of mine and an avid runner, "Running is an odd combination of Endorphins, pain, and accomplishment"
We can rest assured that we have great paced teammates. I did it at a waddly 11-minute mile, but Ben, Steve, and Brian? did it in blazing speeds.

I was doing well until about mile 9. That's when my left hip started hurting and tightening up. I probably stopped running and did a walking stretch 10 times over the course of the last 4 miles. My final chip time was 1:59. I saw 3 other refugees and we talked about doing some speed training. Let me know when and where and I'm there.
Hey Jake,
Just wondering if you knew the procedure for the volunteer sign-ups. I saw the e-mail that they can volunteer on May 15th. My dad would like to sign up as one of our 3 volunteers. Exchange #21 is very close to his house and he would love to be the volunteer for that checkpoint.
Let me know if he needs to volunteer himself or if you do that.
Thanks Jake.
Kip
